Compromise Agreement and New Employer

what will your former employer confirm on any reference request from any prospectve employers?
Surely they cannot lie!
anyhow it all seems strange to me why you cannot say you were made redundtant and why they want to gag you for your entire future - get this checked out before signing.0 -
I signed my compromise agreement yesterday after an hour-long consultation with a solicitor. He said it was a good deal, and the legal advice was paid for by the employer.
It certainly wasn't my idea, but I get the strong feeling that this is definitely what the employer wants. If I ignored it and carried on, relations could deteriorate and it would become an unhappy job.
Besides, yesterday I went to my GP and she said I'm unfit for work for the next two months. My contract finishes then anyway.
I'm worried though, as I have a pre-arranged job interview tomorrow. I've already told them I'm not available until October (thinking I'd have a job until then) and they were ok about that, but I'm nervous about being asked more details. It would then come out about me being ill, and I don't want to talk about that. I'm expecting to be healthy come October, so it wouldn't impact on me doing the job. Part of my agreement included me writing my own reference that they have to use when asked, my only concern is about the dates looking odd. I'm really uncomfortable with the whole situation.0
