Why Can I Not See My Own Credit Score
Munchh
I am amazed the information about yourself, is not readily available to you!!!
Am i being thick? Any info i have found, always costs you, is this fair?
How can i see if i am being scored badly while applying for a loan, if it costs me to do so, when its money i need, not to spend more??????
Dont you just love it when the bank says, 'we will send a letter to let you know why we could not led you this money', then when it arrives it says 'sorry you have a bad credit rating'...........!
????????????????????? BUT WHY ???????????????????
I have no credit cards, my existing loan is with the one bank i use and its them that say no?
Any help would be appreciated.
Munchh.

I may be wrong but perhaps your credit score is low because you havent taken out credit?? It might benefit you to have a small form of credit to build up your score. Also, its annoying but maybe its worth paying the fee to find out why you have been refused a loan by your own bank.(This has happened to me as well but i wasnt that suprised) Regards, Elaine“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Any info you want to see about yourself has to be paid for, even your medical records.0

Martin has written a very good article with lots of links including those how to obtain your statutory £2 reports from the self appointed credit reference agencies here .
You have the oppertunity to correct the mistakes that appear on your file. You will never know what they are or if there are any unless you apply to see your file.
The need for a loan may be a symptom of a greater problem. Responsible lending has been a buzz word amongst the critics of lenders that allow people to get into debt beyond their means to pay it.
@Munchh I think you have the right to try to find the reason why you have been refused and with some persistance you may be able to track down the cause. Don't go ahead with any other credit applications as refusal on these applications may further damage your 'credit score' given the present problems.

So me thinking that not getting a credit card, as i have always been able to do without (something i thought was a good thing), could be holding me back?
As for info about yourself costing money, this is something i still find ridiculous, if you can ask people who have cctv outside their building for a copy of the tape if you walk past, then there must be something legal to answer this? Medical records are free to be viewed at any time round my way, they are yours???0 -
Carry on doing without a credit card. Why not................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

I beleive you can view your medical records for free but if you want a COPY you have to pay a REASONABLE fee for the company to pay someone to copy it and post it to you.
Credit history is £2 and GP records is max of £50. Some surgeries don't have the facility to copy your records (especially when dealing with personal injuries claims) and they simply send the originals out having charged a £10 search fee. All money making, my local GP for example charges £30 to examine you after a road traffic accident which he encourages you to claim off the insurance company "There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

Get/request your statutory reports and see if they think you are, who you are, both from Experian and Equifax. You can pay by cheque. By forever saving money and having no financial relationship with lenders you may be at a disadvantage when it comes to applying for a mortgage due to the lack of a credit history. Sticking with just one financial institution is not a good thing as they tend to take you for granted and you could probably get better terms elsewhere as a new customer.
It is really easy for anyones existing spending budget to be smashed to bits when getting a credit card for the first time. The tempation is often too great for many and the interest rates are dreadful if you fail to pay the full amount off each month. Terms and conditions are very complex to take onboard at the first reading. Often you can't get the money to the credit card company on time as you have not set up a method via the internet /telephone/post between the two different financial institutions.

You also have the right to see video of your own image if it was recorded by CCTV. You have to pay nominal admin costs of tape copying. My guess is £10 to £20 without knowing the full facts that apply at present or the costs that apply today. So much financial information that the credit reference agencies have on you comes from financial institutions that are prepared to share it with the credit reference agencies. Many older accounts are exempt from this sharing process as disclosure of financial details of your affairs to third parties qualified for some privacy in the old days.0 -

That is disgraceful. My GP didn't charge me and I went to her three times to log my injuries. She did have to treat them though so I wonder if that makes a difference.0
