Hampers/Food Baskets

I'm new to all this crafty stuff, so need some help.
I am wanting to make a lovely, expensive looking hamper for a close family members birthday.
First of all , where can I buy baskets/trays/hampers??? Help:eek:

Second of all, what would you use to under fill the selected items????

Thirdly, and most important, what shall I put in it?? This is my Auntie (godmother) and she will be alittle older than 50!!. She likes alcohol, crafty stuff, fine foods, nice smelly stuff... you name it, she will like it. How do I cut this down and not just throw aload of random gifts into a basket.
Already have gift boxed bottle of Southern Comfort to throw in....

Help, I have 5 days to complete this (one of those I am on days and 3 i'm on nights:eek:   )

Ta very muchly in advance

You could look for some cheap red/black whatever colour you want card and shredd it for the filling?or microwave popcorn?very cheap both idea's.

i think if you have southern comfort why not go on that colour scheme?
    marmalade?
    orange biscuits or biscuits
    orange showergel/bath stuff
a nice bath wooden scrubber brush
    cheap cook book
    orange candles
    plain glasses
    orange plastic ice cube

    get my drift?

all placed on black shredded card in a nice basket , black would be nice.
  • Ha ha I see you are local, v,v ,v local to me!!

Do you know where abouts in this town, if poss, I could get hold of a basket??????

    Hi.

I'm making one for my friends baby & is my 1st one, but I got the basket for mine from my local poundland, if you have one.

    The basket looks like this

Only problem is it's bigger than the basket from Wilkinsons baskets £1.99+, so have to find more things to put in it.

Have you looked in shop sales to see if there's anything she likes that is reduced?

I also got another little basket that I might give someone, but would have to find little things for this one and put a bow on the handle or something.

Are you referring to me by any chance?? :D

If you are I got a basket recently from wilkos in Skegness. It was a light wicker one and was £1.99. Although I had to fight through the crowds, for some reason that shop is always heaving!!

If you can't get any from a poundland then the next cheapest is like siren137 says in Wilko's.

The one from Wilkinsons at £1.99 look like this
