Thermal underwear?

I'm off to Prague for a trip with College in February and I'm given to understand that it is a tad cold then - LOL.
Any ideas where to get the best priced thermal undies - longjohns & vests for girls. We're only going for 3 nights and I don't ususally wear this stuff so I don't want to pay investment prices, if you know what I mean?
I'm also looking for nice warm coat as most of the stuff I've got is for UK winters - i.e mostly fashion coats, but thisn't a necessity as I can just pile on the layers if necessary. Trying to save money before I go really but equally don't want to freeze while I'm there.
TIA

Try Aldi. They have some cheap but good quality thermal underwear.0

I don't have an Aldi or Lidl around here - this is suburban Leamington Spa (whoops - forgot the Royal again) Loads of designer shops but pretty much useless for cheap thermals.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Damart? May not be cheap, but it's the place I automatically think of! Camping shops?
The trick is layers, so you may find that thick tights under trousers with socks on top would be enough. Plus a vest - I think most of the dept stores do 'thermal' vests - then long sleeved t-shirt under jumper and sweatshirt. Furry boots? Put your feet layers on before you set out to buy them!
Do NOT forget a hat! Scarf can be good for protecting nose and mouth as well.
But are you going to be outside a lot? If not, you will pile all these layers on and sweat your way through them while indoors.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Does Royal Lemington Spa have a Matalan store? Matalan sell cheap thermal vests and leggings.
What about a body warmer with down & feather filling? They're so warm, it's like walking around with a duvet on.
Matalan and other value stores sell these too. Make sure you read the care label first, to see if it can be machine washed.
I have one with 80/20% down/feather filling. It can be machine washed at 30oC, then tumble dried with 3-4 tennis balls to obtain a perfect look........that's what the care label advises.;)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Matalan and Asda do decent thermals (only seen mens ones but haven't actually looked for womens).
You can pick up really good fleeces for next to nothing now as the cheaper brandnames (Trespass, Regatta and Peter Storm) are using the same technical fabrics but for a fraction of the price. Millets ave usually got a good range of well priced stuff.
Like Savvy Sue said, don't forget your hat as you lose SO much heat out of your head and it REALLY does make a difference.
You can also buy thermal glove liners from camping shops for a few pounds, they go underneath your normal gloves. Leather gloves are pretty warm (Asda do a nice ladies pair for about £10)
Lots of layering is better than one thick garment as the warm air is trapped between each of the layers. This also allows you to take off a mid layer if you get too hot.
For me, a trip to a cold country would have me wearing a thermal top with a fleece and a thinner, windproof and waterproof jacket. I would wear thermal tights under my trousers, a thin pair of socks with a thick pair over the top and some warm boots. Hat, gloves and a neck tube or scarf top everything off and make you draughtproof.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
