Hi, thanks for all the replies! Well, i just called Vodafone and they gave me the PAC code over the telephone just like that- now why on earth couldnt they have just done that in the first place and I wouldnt have sat here like a mug for three weeks assuming it had to be sent in the post! Things are all in swing now have contacted O2 and they are in the process of sorting out transfer - woo hoo! hopefully no more big bills for me!
Yes, I know im awful managing to spend £120 on the phone - silly girl! (give myself a kick) i just talk to much! :silenced: - but will be much stricter from now on :naughty:
I did go out in the end - but it was very good therapy, a good chat and i didnt spend very much at all, it was someones birthday and they bought champagne for everyone - sometimes its actually a bonus having friends who are not on a budget!!
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

I wouldnt use a phone if it cost £11.00 for 20 minutes. I would email people in fact I do.

    Good Luck!!

It would also be cheaper to get the bus to your mates and talk all evening!

i used to spend loads on my mobile, and one thing I am very grateful to this site for is now my total lack of dependence on the vile thing. £10 of credit now lasts approx 3 months!! I just dont call people for a conversation. People call me, I use my house phone in the evening for free and if im at work I use thier phone. Why should I pay a fortune for the priveledge of having a brain tumour causing piece of plastic?

I like my non dependency on mobiles so much, I even forget to take it with me half the time. And I like the space in my brain, it makes you think more, and I dont rely on my phone for company. Im fine with just me!

yep! thats how i feel - but its good in a way cus it means i notice when im getting slack and pull in the reigns a bit!

ps. I would get on a bus to see my mates but the problem is theyve all moved to different cities (and countries and continents this year!!) hence the long phone calls!! - however i could have flown to spain with ryan air on that 20 min phone call _pale_
i actually havent made a phone call on my mobile since!!

Well, its been a month since the debt free wannabe rant about my mobile phone bill - yes I know mostly self inflicted!! although it took some serious admin to swop from contract with Vodafone to PayG with O2.

and guess what? Since then I've only spent £15 on mobile phone calls and texts!

Yep, call me weak of will, but actually having to physically phone up and put credit on my phone out of my weekly budget made me think twice about making phone calls that weren't essential. Plus O2 text you every time you make a phone call and tell you how much credit you have left, so its just not possible to 'phone-blind' and then fall over backwards when you get the bill at the end of the month (I'm not thick, I knew the bill was coming, I just cant resist a natter :D ) Plus O2 have given me a big wad of free texts that i use instead of calling - rock on

all in all - I'm a happy bunny!! Defo recommended for anyone who slips up when unlimited calls are available ;)
