CCJ-how do I get it updated?

Hey all,

I got a credit report from Equifax and there is a CCJ on there from 2001, we cleared it in 2003....how do I get the settlement date placed on file?
and also, I had an account with Littlewoods that I paid up and closed in February 2001.....will it reamin on file for 6 years?

Sorry if these are daft question but I am confused!

Thanks!

Apply to the court concerned for a Certificate of Satisfaction for £10. The CCJ will remain on your file for 6 years (from 2003) but potential lenders will be able to see that you have paid the debt.

As far as Littlewoods goes it's six years from the date of account closure.
  • Thanks for that!

Does it matter that it was a Scottish court? I can't believe I have to pay more dosh to get it updated!

    Grrrr

If you paid a Scottish Decree then, using the address below, send Registry Trust Ltd original proof of payment from the pursuer (the person or organisation that took you to court). The proof of payment should include the name of the court concerned, the amount, date, case number, and the date it was paid in full. You should also enclose a search fee of £4.50.

  • This may be asked over and over, but can somebody explain why it costs you to see your own credit score?

I am amazed the information about yourself, is not readily available to you!!!

Am i being thick? Any info i have found, always costs you, is this fair?

How can i see if i am being scored badly while applying for a loan, if it costs me to do so, when its money i need, not to spend more??????

Dont you just love it when the bank says, 'we will send a letter to let you know why we could not led you this money', then when it arrives it says 'sorry you have a bad credit rating'...........!

    ????????????????????? BUT WHY ???????????????????

I have no credit cards, my existing loan is with the one bank i use and its them that say no?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Munchh.
