P60 - employer will not supply - help!

Hi,
Basically I was never given my P60 for the tax years 2006 - 2007 and 2007 - 2008. Since then the accountant at my previous place of work retired and a new one started. I emailed her a month ago to ask for my P60s and she said that she had just got off holiday and would sort it out as soon as possible, since then, nothing.
I need them as I know that my tax code was wrong and so I am due quite alot of money back from inland revenue but also my partner is applying to uni and as I am his significant other I need to provide them as evidence of earnings to support his entitlement for funding and grant etc and I really really need them as soon as possible.
I explained this to my previous employer last week (in an email) but no response.
I was wondering if there was another way I could get them or if I can report the company or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this same problem once, needed P60 to claim tax but previous employer wasn't providing it.
Just get aggressive with them. Forget polite and considered emails. Phone them up and say "you are legally obliged to provide me with a P60, get one to me as soon as possible or I will report the company to HMRC". I don't even know if there is such a facility for reporting them, but this is pretty much what I said and I got mine within the week.0 -

Well in my second email I did mention info I got from the directgov website and stated that I was legally entitled to have them and was never given one (I also asked my previous collegues and they are adament they did not recieve them either) but nothing and no reply...I'm really not good with confruntation so I want to try and keep this to emailing as I lose my nerve face to face or on the phone!0 -
Sounds to me like the company might be up to something dodgy here. It's possible that they might be deducting tax from your wages, but then instead of paying it to the taxman, they are pocketing it for themselves.
Find out which tax office is yours. If you have any payslips there might be a 3-digit number on it which is the tax office number. Go on the HMRC website and search for contact info here: http://search3.openobjects.com/kbroker/hmrc/locator/locator.jsp?type=1
Call the tax office and explain the situation to them. They might write off to the company themselves and ask for the P60 on your behalf. That might get things moving.0 -

Oh we (the ex employees) all know the company was up to no good, the accountant and the previous co-owner (long story ending in the old co-owner signing his rights over to the other co-owner for no money) but I didn't realise this would affect my tax
I'll definately get onto the tax office!0
