Get 6 free issues of 'The Week' Magazine

What's the deal?

Weekly news and current affairs magazine 'The Week' is offering a 6 issue free trial. It usually costs £2.35 if you buy it from the newsagents so this is a top deal.

WARNING! You'll need to sign up to a direct debit but no money will be taken from your account until 14 days after the 6th issue is sent out, so if you don't want to continue the subscription make sure you diarise this and cancel in time. If you do continue, it will charge you £19.99 for 13 issues on a continuous direct debit.

How to get it

Simply go to the The Week's website and on the left hand side of the page click on '6 issue free trial'. Fill in your address details and bank account details.

Get paid £5.80 for your free trial

It's possible to actually get paid for your free trial if you sign up via a special cashback site.

Rather than signing up through The Week's website you'll need to go to the Magazine Group via the cashback site to get your slice of cash. You can get up to £5.80 depending on which cashback site you use:

Topcashback: £5.80
Cashback Kings: £4.80
Quidco: £4.80

If you're new to cashback sites first read Top Cashback Sites.

Get 6 FREE issues of The Week magazine:

    http://www.the.week.magazine.co.uk/

There's an interactive sampler of the magazine on the site - enabling you to 'try before you buy'.
  • It's possible to actually get paid for your free trial if you sign up via a special cashback site.

I read in the business press somewhere that some magazine subscription sites are becoming reluctant to honour free and cheap trial orders through cashback or reward sites, because they are aware of people signing up for the cash and then cancelling. Some are calling it 'fraud'. I'm not saying 'don't try it', but you may find that either the magazines or, more likely, the cashback, are not forthcoming, especially if you do this more than once.
  • I availed of this offer 2 months ago. After I had received my 6 free magazines I received a piece of direct mail from a charity I'd never heard of.

I contacted them to find out where they had got my details and they had bought them on a list from The Week.

I'm normally very careful about not signing up to things like that but because I had agreed to the offer over the phone it's possible that I didn't realise what I was being asked. (I'd be surprised though as I'm normally very careful.)

Make sure, if you call them, that you make it clear they can't sell your details.

I signed up about a month or so ago and still no sign of The Week, so I doubt I'll be getting it. And I didn't sign up through a cashback site, just signed on for 6 free issues.

    Hi skibster,

Just signed up for this offer. The site stated that it will take 6-8 weeks for the first copy to arrive. Seems a long time compared to other subscriptions I've had in the past. Your copy may show up.

Thanks, just checked and I signed up on 8 June. So that's about six weeks, maybe it will come. If we like it, we could get a year of it for 29.96 in Tesco clubcard vouchers (though that is nearly enough for a flight to Paris, lol).

I've signed up for some other magazines and anywhere between 4-8 weeks seems to be quite a standard waiting time to receive your 1st copy.
