Wholewheat pasta / rice?

Does anyone know where i can buy cheap whole grain pasta and rice? It's always been slightly more expensive than the normal stuff, but now a 500g packet of normal pasta is about 70p, the wholegrain is over a pound. I'm buying the value pasta at the moment, but I'd prefer to buy the "brown" variety, for a vegetarian family, it's a good "backup" source of protein.

500g of Tesco wholewheat spaghetti is 41p, 500g of their ordinary spaghetti is 45p

btw their 2 kg packs of ordinary spaghetti work out at 55p for 500g
How many of us pick up the bigger pack assuming we're making a saving by buying in bulk? 0 -
Also, and I know many of us already know this, but Value isn't always cheaper either.thriftlady wrote: »btw their 2 kg packs of ordinary spaghetti work out at 55p for 500g

I was buying lasagne sheets last night and the Value sheets were 32p for 250g and Marshalls was 55p for 500g. I know it's only a few pence, but needless to say I opted for Marshalls.
Anyone who looks in my cupboard will be thinking I've had a funny turn
