When I read the title of the post I thought that it was about cakes for people aged over 40!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

You could make gingerbread for the children. I often do a batch for things at the school. Have you got a nice shaped cutter that you could use?Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

lots of good ideas above; I simply make two or three big cakes rather than lots of little ones. Quick and easy!0

If you want to cheat, you can buy the value ready made fairy buns, make some buttercream and turn them into butterfly buns. With a quick dusting of icing sugar they will look pretty good.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Hi
Thanks so much for all your ideas.
I have made 60 chocolate rice crispie cakes and am going to give them to the class with an ice lolly each (will keep in the freezer at work till home time )and a few sweeties each. Made a batch of Twinks Hob Nobs, 2 big square chocolate cakes and 2 big square lemon cakes, will cut into slices, and I think should make about 60 portions. I already had some ingredients for the cakes in my cupboard, but spent only £11.77 on the extras which included the ice lollies and sweets. Not bad eh? I am so chuffed. Just hope they like them! And if not, never mind as I am leaving anyway lol!!!
Many thanks for all your help guys, fantastic suggestions0 -
Hiya!
I always use this company for my photo toppers. They are really good and honest I don't get paid by them lol!
I have considered buying a machine so I can make my own at home, but its nice just to have them occasionally as it makes them more special!
It is really simple, you just slightly wet the icing and stick the picture on, when you see the cupcakes all together it is quite stunning. The ones from my daughters first birthday and Katies leaving cakes caused quite a wow so I can see wedding cupcakes of the happy couple looking great!
