Hi,
What sort of things are you into?
If you are going on a Wednesday or Saturday the market is very good but very crowded!
There is a lot of Roman remains, there is a museum, bits of wall, the remains of a theatre and some other bits and pieces. They do do guided walks which are really good value but you would need to look the details of those up as they aren't daily.
There is also the Abbey where St Alban is supposed to be interred which is gorgeous.
You can park in Westminster Lodge swimming pool car park and walk into the town via the ducks and the Abbey which I think is free but failing that all the car parks are similarly priced.Debt Free - done

We're probably going on Saturday (or Sunday).0

If you're going to do the Roman stuff then you could park by the Verulamium (Roman) Museum for 80p all day. It's just 15 minutes walk from there to the centre of St Albans through Verulamium Park and up the hill past the abbey. It's the parking marked on the left side in this map.

I'm off to St Albans Friday week, and wanted to know where the cheapest place to park. I'm going to the Alban Arena Theatre, so it needs to be fairly near there.
This time last year I paid a fiver to park for up to 4 hours in a pretty grotty looking car park, which didn't look overly secure and wondered if there was anything better.

Hi Russ, I'm not sure if this will help but I usually park in a multi storey on Victoria Street (see Multimap) which is pretty close to the theatre, it's parking for the Maltings shopping centre. I'm not sure if it is the cheapest but if it's security you are most concerned about then I'd recommend it.0

I went last Tuesday and parked for free near the leisure centre on the outskirts. Not sure how far that was from the venue you need though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
