DS1(ASD) has been out of school for almost 2 years and the LEA here couldn't care less.
What is ASD?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

We've just sold. Been on the market since last October. Sold to move closer to work. 35mile commute is now <8miles. Perfect for the motorbike. Fuel costs now = £8/week as opposed to £75
The drop has also meant that with the £140k equity we have we can now buy a bigger house in a very nice village for a sensible price. Hopefully we will never have to move again

I agree that sell to rent are probably very few. I have a massive amount of equity but no one could convince me to sell as I love my home and no amount of money is worth me selling to rent. If it were just me, perhaps, but not with a family who are surrounded with friends. I suspect most feel about their home in that way.0

Have to agree, but sometimes you outgrow a place and need a new project.0 -
I think I am in the position of having to pay capital gains tax on my house, in 18 months if I don't sell my house. I could have sold in March last year for 210,000 but decided to get a very large morgage instead and let my daughter stay there with a couple of friends, while I moved to another house with the rest of the family. I know find myself losing money every month to keep my daughter and her friends in cheap accomadation, and the house is looking very tired. When I made some phone calls I am told by local agents I could expect to get 180,000, a drop of 30,000. Surely this can't be true. Is there anyone out there who can advise me? I really don't know what to do and I am tired of kicking myself that I did not get rid last year.0

How about asking the couple of friends to pay a sensible rent? Perhaps even the daughter? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
I am selling up to go and live with my boyfriend in Scotland. Have travelled evry other weekend for 18 months now and am tired of the travelling (I live in the Midlands). House been on the market since April and have had 5 viewings in that time. I have reduced 3 times now (I took the decision not the EA). Started at £186k now down to £157k. Thinking of doing £150k which will put me in the cheapest bracket of all. Just need to sell quickly now but do not want to go down the cash for houses route. Already rang one out of interest to find out that they would give £117!!!.0
