  • Hi, i can't add much by way of advice, except that when i went BR, i didn't even have to see a judge, so maybe that depends on the court??Hope things pick up for you, whatever you decide..
  • Think you all for your kind comments, dalip I contacted NDL & explained to them my financial situation I was in, They explained the different options available to me.

They would not have advised me on what course of action to take they said that had to be my decision, Was I given the wrong information.

I confided to my landlord that i was going bankrupt he told me I had to move out straight away, He said he didn't want his address associated with bankruptcy & affect his credit rating, I was only renting one room in his house.

Will i now experience difficulty renting, I mean do i have to tell new landlord, will bankruptcy be associate with any new property i rent from. Not sure about new SOA going for bankruptcy interview in eleven days.

Bankruptcy is only associated with the individual, not the address. It wouldn't effect your landlords credit rating.

It does have to be your decision, but you it needs to be one of the options they discussed with you, all of the implications, and whether or not it is the best route for you. Initially I was advised to go for a DMP, then following further discussion was advised br was best option in my situation. If you are still unsure, contact one of the charities such as CCCS and ask again - better to repeat the advice than slip up.

The bankruptcy is against your name, not the address so this would not be affected. Would he change his mind if you explained this??

When we moved into rented, we made sure that the lettings agent were happy to rent to undischarged bankrupts. You may well find they ask for a guarantor, or more rent up front, but remember this means you are no longer in debt so should be more than able to meet your rent commitments.

Just explain that you have not used your cards for 4 years and you have not got any cc statements ect the OR can get copies of what he needs. So don't worry. D
