cheap hol from Belfast

Hi everyone
This is my first post here :) I've searched around and I'm not coming up with anything great, the only time I can get off for a holiday is around the 15/16th August for 1 week, I'm trying to find the cheapest place for me and 3 kids, the problem is I left it too late to get passports and it's looking as if abroad would have been the cheaper option.
I've looked at Haven holidays who have a park in craig tara and ulsterbus do a service straight to it for a reasonable price (no car) but after googling reviews of it I'm in two minds, if anyone has any experience of this place or could point me in the right direction for something decent I'd be really grateful
Thanks in anticipation!

    Hello, and welcome!

I applied for my Irish passport using the Post Office express service, and I had it within a week. It's much faster than applying for a UK passport, so going overseas is not totally out of the question.

I have heard mixed reviews about the Haven park, and remember its still in "Sunny" Scotland whose weather is the same as ours:o

Trip advisor online will give you an independent review of every hotel and holiday park etc.... may be worth a look. And remember Tesco clubcard points can be converted for 4 times the value to book Haven holidays if you have any to hand;)

There are fewer last minute deals for foreign holidays this year because of the weather here this year:o so many people are leaving last minute that travel firms can still charge what they want and fill the seats on planes out:o

Good luck in your holiday quest.
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

UK passport should be here and back in a fortnight if you use the express service through the post office.

My sons had expired and i hadnt realised, so i posted it off, then booked the day it came back - it arrived on the friday, got a last minute deal to cyprus leaving on the sunday.

Thanks everyone :) I still haven't sorted anything, but it will definitely be somewhere in the UK, after looking at the trip advisor site and the Craig Tara park doesn't seen too appealing, oh well back to the search lol

:o Just had a look at trip advisor for Craig Tara myself:eek:

Just goes to prove what a good site trip advisor is and remember they do worldwide reviews on hotels, resorts etc... and they are all independent reviews too;) I love the American ones where they come to London and expect Las Vegas style Hotels and accommodation :D:D:D:D I shouldn't laugh though:o They do provide very in depth reviews of the hotels with photographs too;) which is very handy for when I go to London.

Good luck on the quest ml, I'm off to the sunny south of England myself early August as I have youngish kids and a foreign holiday is not ideal for them yet. Thankfully I have family in England so it means free accommodation :o every little helps these days.

Why didn't you just get an Irish passport?

As I said above, I had mine back within a week, and the express service only cost about £70 I think.
