hi,
does anyone know if my parents would show up on my credit file. i am in financial hardship and have many defaults at the moment, i have lived in my own flat for three and a half years and before that , with my parents . most of the defaults are at my flat but i am worried that now my father needs to get a loan would there be a link to me ?
i am thinking that when they check his name there, will be a link from my old address (their home) to my new one where i have the defaults. or do they go by individuals name only? we do not have ANY shared financial committments.
thanks
can anyone advise

hiya
Credit files are personal, not based on the address anymore. If you ever had a joint account with you dad, then that association would turn up. Otherwise no, even the defaults at your folk's house.
If you are struggling with budgeting, then do post and the folks here can show you snowballs, pigsbacks and quidco. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I would call up the credit reference agency for an explanation. They should hopefully be able to sort it out. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110
