BRU question

I went bankrupt a year ago, there was a lot of gambling involved, and i agreed to a 5 year BR order.

What i want to know is, i will be discharged in August 2008, but the BRU will remain in place.

Im currently unemployed so no IPA , what happens when i get a job after the 1 year bankruptcy ends? will the OR be due any of my earnings?

Thanks

IF you will be discharged in August then I'm fairly sure you cannot be given an IPA after. Can you check with your OR?

You can't get an IPA after discharge, even if there is a BRO/BRU in place.

An IPA can only be put in place whilst you are bankrupt - so from the day you attend court to your discharge date. A BRU is just the undertaking that you are under the same restrictions for (in this case) 5 years after discharge. That has nothing to do with an IPA, so once the discharge is with you then no IPA can be applied.

This is slightly off topic but if you're discharged and get a BRU, I understand from whats been said here that you can't get an IPA.. so does that mean that you can start saving without the worry of the OR asking for some or all of the funds?

After discharge, is ALL your money your own? I'm not talking about millions, just normal saving or having £700 sat in your current account etc.

    Thanks,

After discharge - its all yours. The whole kit caboodle. As are any new debts though!

Before discharge you can get a BRU and an IPA, but these both have to be in place before your discharge date. You can have both and IPA and a BRU though - they are seperate things and do not correlate with each other.
