Claiming benefits for the first time
Options
Hi
Been a long while away from the forum and I wanted to start off with a very pressing concern I have. I never had to claim benefits before of any sort. But recent reduncies at work and some problems at home has made it a necessary question. What happens if I am made refundent from work for whatever the reason? Then what benefits would I need to claim in order to pay off my rent and keep the basics going?
The rent I pay is to my Sister-in-law (since my Brother's death). I pay by bank transfer or by cheque but don't have a tenancy agreement as such. Also if I am to move out from this house and pay a rent elsewhere then how would that affect me?
Advise is most appreciated. Can't imagine how this affects my sleep. Cheers.

Hello 999mph
Sorry you are having a hard time at the moment. However you;ve posted your question in the wrong place (on the Local Moneysaving/England board) and you're unlikely to get any advice here. Try asking over on the Benefits Board:
