Just seen on ebay someone selling an advantage card with £700 on !

See I saw this and thought I have to have a look. Then thinking about the posting, who in their right mind, with that kind of money, would buy and advantage card? If you have that much money, surely you will just buy the products as you want them, not buy an advantage card?

Why hasn't this person used their points to buy things for the home, children, etc?

I am sure they have their reasons, and wanting the money for their holiday is fair enough, but they are taking a big chance.

Lots of reasons people pay the value or more on vouchers. I'll give you an example...
One of my buddies is on IS as is a stay at home mum(three kids under 3:eek: ). That allows you to earn £20 without any deductions on IS amount. She sells al the kids unused stuff on ebay. You are allowed to sell on ebay anything you bought for your own use and no longer require etc as they say the value will decrease etc. However, if you were to buy an item in order to sell it as profit it is classed as an income etc.

She went for her 6 month interview and had to take bank statements along, they questioned the paypal payments. To cut a long story short she had to provide print outs of all she sold etc and prove they were no longer used items. She had sold a couple of new bits and had to get letters to peove they were unwanted gifts etc. Whilst they investigated her, her IS was stopped and as a knock on effect they stopped her housing and CT payments etc.

So now when she sells their old toys/clothes etc she buys vouchers to use in next or whatever as then paypal does not appear on bank statements, so she does not have to go through all that palaver again. This was recommended to her by the advisor in the end lol

The price stuff like this goes for always shocks me.Im sure this isnt a card that is being investigated, but how would you know:rolleyes:

Its like gift vouchers.I saw a £40.00 Boots gift voucher go for £43.00 , plus £3.50 p&p, what are people thinking:confused: Why not get one from dot.com if ya cant get to Boots:confused:

    .

    snipped

Someone said, and I think it was on this forum, that people don't want to pay Paypal fees either, to transfer money to their account. So use the Paypal account to purchase vouchers, etc, and again may pay face value or just over the odds, but it is saving them money in the long run.

    Hi all

discovered what prob is sally06 and all x

you can't do the 3-4-0 ts the same time as the no7 glitch, the 3 ts vouchers counter out the tillspit, it was tried altogether again today but till said no - so cancelled it off and split it and it works fine, sa was great about it all.

twice yesterday when i did it i had no probs apart from the last one, where i noticed last night, sorted now though ;)

How mad is that? boots tills are crazy. Thanks for letting us know what the problem was with my transaction. So I wasted my last 5.00 No7 voucher, ugh!

I think I might get more facial suncream (got lots of tillspits now) and use acm voucher and tillspit. It's still a good deal without the PC coupon, as you are effectively only paying 50p and getting a gwp too:D
