old employment... money owing

Morning all.

I left my old employment last year on 20th June. My salary was 17500 plus bonus. Now I am aware that in my last month I was not elligible to earn bonus, however, my fibal payment included 201 goliday pay.

My boss had agreed verbally i could carry over some holidays from last year, which i did. And I took them (5 days). Do you think it would be worth writing to them to ask how they comprised my holiday pay, because by my reckoning 201 is not even a week?

Thx xx

Did you not receive a payslip for your final month's wages as this should show you what you were paid for. Could be worth contacting the company to send you a copy if you have not received it.

  • I'd ask them to send you details, payments like this can sometimes be more complicated than you think. My contract for example is based on a 7 day working week, even though I only ever work Monday to Friday.

This means you never say you are sick on a Saturday and Sunday as it affects your long term sickness. If you are sick on a Friday, you always say you got better by Saturday morning. It took me years to work this out and I always said Monday as it sounded better.

This method also affects our pay calculations and hourly rate calcs, so I would ask them if I where you. They should be happy to help.
