"Chinese knock-offs! And only 50 disks not 59. The picture quality isn't even vcd worthy, absolute crap. Very disapointed! Quick delivery though."

"GOODS RETURNED AS THEY ARE COUNTERFEIT."

"I expected these earphones to be original but THESE EARPHONES ARE NOT ORIGINAL !!They may seem original to person who buys cx400 for first time , I already have bought not original cx400s so I know how they look like.Make yourself a favor-dont buy em"

Thanks for that. I plan to buy some Bose earphones and I might easily have fallen for these fake ones on Play if it wasn't for this post.

I was under the impression that (real) Bose were the bee's knees. But, according to some other posters, not necessarily, which is interesting.

    Are you serious?!?

I take it you've heard earphones made by Sennheiser, Shure, AKG, etc?

I'd rather get my audio equipment from a company that doesn't make alarm clocks.
Sorry, I was generalising not just meaning earphones. I myself still have a pair of Sony Fontopia which I have had for over 25 years! To be fair though I did misplace them for about 15 years so they haven't had a lot of use, brilliant quality though and if I remember rightly they were about £30 all those years back. Otherwise I always buy Sennheiser earphones, Richer Sounds generally have them at a good price.
Bose has lately become a bit like B&O I suppose in that they trade on their past reputation. It's generally excellent quality though but overpriced, someone has to pay for all that advertising and marketing!!

I agree, you'll often find better for less; they're one of those "lifestyle brands" which I guess is why they advertise in the glossy magazines that come with the Sunday papers. I just don't understand why someone would buy their products when they could get something from a pro-audio company instead.

The Sony Fontopia earphones were pretty good as I recall. Very comfortable to wear, and with quite a lot of bass if you're into that sort of thing. Sennheiser are of course a great brand.

I'm using the Shure SE530 earphones at the minute, which are a complete waste of money and a total self-indulgence, but I love them so much I just don't care. ;)

  • I bought a pair of BOSE earphones from eBay any I left feedback before I opened the package, that was a mistake because they turned out to be counterfeit.

They look like the real thing, but they feel wrong and they sound like something from the pound-shop. I was shocked, I had no idea that anyone made counterfeit earphones,

Then I bought some Sennheiser CX500 from Amazon, !!!!!! me if they did not turn out to be counterfeit too.

From now on I will only buy stuff like that from Dixons or any other big high street shop, at least that way I can get my money back if it goes wrong and turn out to be a copy.

I've got CX300s and they're very nice. Lost them and bought CX500s which have the inline volume control. Found the CX300s so now have a spare pair. :rotfl:

Good sound, decent isolation and the rubber things make them really comfortable to wear.

Yes - for under £20, the cx300 are excellent (though there are also a fair few fakes in circulation - so be careful...)

I've also got some etymotic earphones, which do keep external sounds out better and have a slightly clearer sound - but they cost quite a bit more, and not really sure it's worth paying the extra...
