I'm looking for an acoustic guitar suitable for a beginner and would like recommendations on which one is best value for money please.
On my shortlist so far are: Does anyone have any experience of these guitars, or perhaps can suggest one not on the list please? Max budget approx £100.
Many thanks :A

BUMP!!!
I'm also wanting to buy an acoustic guitar for a beginner and was wondering if the ones in argos are any good? Don't want to spend a fortune as don't know how dedictaed they will be!! Seen a few in argos and some books etc.....0 -
Ohhhh I didn't realise Argos sold them too, will go have a look!
The only one I think I would consider buying from there would be the Yamaha F310, but you can actually buy it cheaper elsewhere so I wouldn't bother with Argos personally. There doesn't appear to be anything much cheaper either, quite a limited selection“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Buy one second hand from someone who had the same idea as you to learn guitar:rolleyes:
If you ask in guitar shop about teachers you could make contact with them and they might loan you an instrument for a couple of lessons to see if you have any aptitude.
OH has a cheapie accoustic guitar and finds it hard on his fingers and the action needs lowering to improve it (costs about £25) so you are probably better going into guitar shop for advice and to try out.
DD has a classical guitar. Much easier on the fingers as are not metal strings. Cost £200 plus after a year the action had to be lowered on that to.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Last year I bought an Encore guitar from Argos - was about £49.99 (think it is called starburst). Anyway - it is fine, have had no probs with it - ideal for a beginner and really good price too.0

did you buy one in the end?0 -
did you buy one in the end?
I did yes! But not one of the ones from my original shortlist
I've bought a Guvnor GA100 which was recommended to me as being one of the better quality guitars at the cheaper end of the market. It's due to arrive today so I'll let you know!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
