65 ...running your own business ...higher tax rate

tax payer. posted a message back a few days but some aspects are still not very clear and may not have given all of the info needed. my 65 year old dad who as i mentioned still works (has his own business) and has not requested his pension yet as he would pay too much tax. his wife is only 50 and he has 2 younger children. Would he still be entitled to the £200 towards winter fuel even if not claiming his pension. this is not clear from the info on the web address that a moneysaver kindly sent through . as i recall someone said in an earlier thread earlier on in the year that if you are not claiming your pension the computer forgets to offer you winter allowance and you have to specifically request. and you have to request it to get it?thanks again.

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
