Hi I'm New

Hi I'm new :o
Still a bit confused on what I have to do but fortunately I have already made aquiantence with Numpty Monkey who said you all all a good punch to talk to and get advice from.
I have also be told that you are all hugger's which suits me fine as I like to treat others as I wish to be treated myself.

Now I now this is probably the wrong part of the forum to go into but as I nearly always go by word of mouth before I deal with anybody if you don't mind I will stop on here ;)

I would like to pick your brains in asking -Is there any help out there in getting board(rent) that my son can claim to give to me?

He is living with my husband and self, has a disability which makes it impossible for him to work and is receiving income support.
I was wondering if there is an avenue which he will be able to go down so that he wasn't so dependent on us and also to make him feel he can contribute to the household.

It sound a bit harsh of me posting this as we are dept free at the moment, but as I am a pensioner things are getting a bit tight and I don't want my son to see us struggle with bills.

Hugs to all
coowee

I'm not a fluffy hugger, but still offer you a friendly 'welcome aboard'.

Sorry can't answer your q, but there will be someone who can or who will point you in the right direction. Maybe Benefits board? You'll soon get an answer.

Hi, and welcome to the board - huggers, possibly, straight talking - definately!

Have you thought about carer's allowance? There's a site called something like entitledto.co.uk and that will gve you a broad idea what you could or could not claim. I'm not sure if he could claim housing benefit as he's with relatives. The benefits board will most likely be able to help, but I'm sure there's someone on here that will know a bit more.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Thank you all for a warm welcome
My son does get lower rate care allowance at the moment, and this goes on taxi fares for doctor's , hospital etc. and to be truthful as a mother I don't want to be paid out of this allowance as my help is freely given and I thought for my sake if a payment for a little rent is given for exactly this, then I wouldn't feel uneasy in taking it.
Silly I know but that's the way I am.
