What do you have to show?

Hello Guys,
First of all i'd like to say how amazing this site is!
Secondly, i have been thinking about people's debt and how so many people are in debt, some are a few thousand others are more than a few.
It made me think, what do you have to show for your debt?
I'm about £15-16k in debt and i have nothing to show for it! I have this computer but it certainly wasnt 15 grand!
When i think of £15 grand that would mean getting married, maybe a nice car,a holiday, the list goes on.....
I have seriously learnt from my mistakes and i will never put myself in this position again.
My question is what do you have to show for your debt?

Well I bought 2 brand new cars. Totalling about £22,000 plus interest.
Bought 2 brand new PC's.
A few holidays.
The rest, only god knows!0 -
my debt comes from having to live on practically nothing whilst volunteering and working for free to start up my career.
The debt has been hanging on me for a while and was not helped by someone mashing my car and then not excisting when I claimed for it!!
I'm only about 3 grand in debt but hope to clear it very soon by frugal living and hard work!!
cant wait to be debt free but I also know I will be back there this time next yaer when the tax man calls (first year of self employed!!)
SplashieExcuse the spelling...life is too short to get evey word right!!0 -
Well to be honest what i have to show for my debt (other than this pc and doctor who collection) is my PhDStill wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0

I have memories of drink fuelled nights out when i was a student, lots of clothes which i dont even wear anymore. so its boils down to the fact that i dont have anything to show for it, i wont be making that mistake again.i dont think any of us will, will we!!!!0

Got a nice house, got two decent cars, got some nice consumer gear, etc.
But nowhere near as much as might be expected from the debt we were (and still are) in.
Too much spent on living beyond our means - meals out, nice clothes, etc.0 -
pretty much like everyone else, wanting everything and not willing to wait for it, this was fine when we both had good jobs, lesson learnt and have no intention of letting this happen again, if we want it we save for it0

Thanks for all your replies.
It's a huge lesson to learn but its all about learning from your mistakes.Abbey Loan £6,000

Not much really. My digital camera, various other photographic equipment, clothes, the usual household appliances, lots of pretty things cluttering up my house, knick-knacks that I bought at car boot sales etc. when I should have been paying off my credit card (now at its credit limit)... that sort of thing. And HNC Communication and Media, which still hasn't got me a proper job.0

Sweet FA. Seriously, its depressing. I could have travelled the world on £10K and then saved £9K for a deposit on a house, or travelled on £19K.. still, no point with the "what if's".....
I still have a denim jacket I bought in warehouse on a shopping spree, but really, thats all :0)
Oh well...
