You can get a 10 year fix at Scarborough building society, under 6% too with your LTV.0

Generally speaking, on such a relatively small mortgage I cannot see the rationale for going onto another fixed rate, since the fees will generally far outweigh any other benefits you may gain.
I am sorry but I think some "advisers" may be getting rather desperate......
Many clients, especially in an uncertain market, will want the stability and peace of mind of a fixed rate. Regarding fees, as I mentioned earlier, NW do have fixeds available with no fee for existing clients.
Regarding advisers getting desperate, I don't believe anyone on this thread is touting for business, merely trying to help the OP out.0 -
Dont really know what you are trying to get at here Gloster, im only trying to get myself the best deal around and if that means doing some legwork-pardon the pun- then thats what it takes.Gloster_Advise wrote: »davidscot
personally i haggled with C&G about 3 months back, i wasn't with them at the time. they reduced my arr fee by £500 to get the business.
whether or not you are looking early is not for me to say but do you really have all this time to scour all lenders to find the best deal yourself? I think not unless you are unemployed, self employed with little work or an insomniac.0 -

Well said.
I'm not sure why Gloster made that comment, afterall it takes a bit of leg work to find a holiday, car or new loft insulation.
I've long argued advisers are only here for the difficult cases.
Also are you aware you may get a better deal direct with some lenders?
I like The One Account and First Direct0 -

Is it a broker only thing or an existing customer retention deal?
It is on their website.
