I can't help on the Induction area as I totally avoided that by simply going into Dr Dahlqvists version of Atkins Ongoing Weight Loss however there are a whole army of Atkins supporters at this Active Low Carb Forummrelephant wrote: »Hi

but I found I just started losing weight steadily without the induction period so the point is the sooner you lower your insulin levels the sooner you will begin to use your fat as a fuel source.
Remember the higher and longer your insulin levels are raised the more fat is stored.
The more fat that is stored the more pro inflammatory leptin is produced.
The more leptin circulating the hungrier you are therefore the more temptation you have to endure.
You can cut leptin levels not only by reducing those foods that raise insulin but also by eating a portion of oily fish every other day OR consuming 2 fish oil capsules before every meal (six daily approx 1.5g omega 3) AND by improving your natural Vitamin D3 anti inflammatory status. We average 2000iu/daily from sun/diet but our bodies work best with 5000iu/d. If you are obese you will have below average Vit d status (because pro inflammatory leptins neutralise anti inflammatory vit d) . Therefore you will benefit from more than just the 3000iu your body needs to make up the difference between what it currently gets and what it ideally requires.
I have been taking 5000iu/daily and even with getting every possible opportunity to sunbathe naked in the UK I still haven't been able to raise my 25(OH)D above 60ng 150nmol/l.
You are allowed to take double that amount and still sunbathe safely. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

mrelephant i have done atkins for over 4 yrs and have now lost over 8stone
its hard to give anyone a fixed menu as we dont know what u do and dont like.. i suggest u look at some of the very good lowcarb sites like ivillage and lowcarbfriends
generally for brekki u would have maybe eggs, bacon tomato.. lunch and/or dinner some protein with salad or veg from the allowable list
