Tag Heuer Replacement Battery

I need to get a replacement battery for a Tag Heuer watch. I understand that they have to be replaced by a Tag and that it costs £33ish (for new battery, pressure testing etc).

Does anybody know of a cheaper way of getting this done without damaging the watch?

I know that I could get it done at the market for a few £'s but my previous watches have been scratched by this.

  • I used this independant guy for my wifes Tissot watch, Battery Replacement and Pressure Testing was £15 and a full service was £35, went for the full service as it was 9 years old.

We were very pleased with the results, I will be sending him my Tag when it's battery gives up.

Mr Green did not wish to go ahead with the repair , this was his choice and as it was not repaired then he is not in a position to criticize our repair service , Chris Heal FBHI watchmaker
  • Hi, I was originally paying £30+ for a new battery in my Tag and then asked in my local market and was told that they re-seal too as that is what I was told I was basically paying £30+ for at Watches of Switzerland, Manchester. I now pay around £5. and my watch works just fine and is sealed so is still waterproof too.

  • Seals should always be replaced once disturbed. How are you going to check the watch is still waterproof after fitting a battery, put it in the sink? Why gamble a £1,000 watch to save a few quid on a battery replacement?

If you're that worried about saving money why did you buy a TAG in the first place? Get a Casio G Shock for £50, it will outlive you!
