in Cutting tax
I need to make a tax refund claim for year 2007-2008, for which I was on BR rate for about 8 months.
As a supply teacher, I was registered with 5 agencies (all BR) to maximise my work. I was expecting to receive P60s or P45s after this April. I have some P45s and 1 P60 but not from all of the agencies.
They are not really interested in supplying documentation now as I am in a permanent position and no longer with them.
Basically, my question is, can I claim without full documentation? Does the tax office have my record of tax paid anyway?
Not quite sure what to do first...

The P60 should have come from the last employer you worked for before the end of the tax year. It should have on it the tax you paid from previous employment during that year. This will be all the tax office needs to calculate your refund.0

I think you should make a list of all of your sources of income, amounts received from each and tax deducted from 6th April 07 to 5th April 08.
Then check how the P45s and P60 tie in with this info.
If you are missing documentation, then you could always do copies of your payslips.
Write to your current tax office and enclose a summary of your income and tax deducted, they should be able to check on their records the info you have provided.
At this stage I would not send any documents in, but you could provide if asked.
If you are asked to send in P45's/P60/wageslips.....make sure you take a copy first.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
