Them being the Halifax.
I first wrote to them back in February to say that I was having problems due to my ill health. I wrote to the banking heasd office address for the overdraft & the Loan head office for the loan. Offered to make a small payment to each of them. Heard nothing until April when the local Branch wrote telling me that head office had passed on my letters to them. The branch sent me a paying in book for each.
Silly me assumed it was settled. In April the phone calls started. I told them what had been arranged etc. Because they hadn't got anything in writing (well they wouldn't if it had been passed on to the local branch would they!?) they refused to accept anything I said. I re-posted my initial letter etc. Heard nothing. Then I started getting letter about intereset still being added to the Overdraft etc. Phone calls again. Even text messages.
On the 4th July had the bankruptcy court case, so I know this all is really irrelevent now, but I did send a copy of the Bankruptcy order to both departments.
Today I get text messages & a threatening letter about sending in the debt collection agency (oooooooooohh .... always have been so scared of the DCA's!! ---- Bring 'em on!!!:rotfl: ).
I just find the Halifax sooooooo depressing. Do they know what the word communication means?
Sorry. Really fed up today. I hope that they totally ignore my official reciever the way they have totally ignored me. Do companies get into trouble if they ignore the OR? I hope so! If they do, I will stop dreaming of a holiday and start dreaming of the unspeakable nast things that could befall the Halifax if they ignore the OR.
Sorry to moan.

Tell the OR yourself first that they are harrassing you and they will deal with accordingly.
Halifax do not have the best reputation around here. They were the ones who refused point blank my DMP and (I am sure she won't mind me mentioning it) but they actually phoned Broken Hearted's OH on his hospital ward when he was rather sick - just to check he was there rather than paying bis debt....
Don't you dare get upset with these toszzers. They deserve nothing. But cheer yourself up a bit by playing along with them (get some ideas - search for a Dealing with Debitas thread....)0 -
Hellifax have been a nightmare for me too. They are my smallest creditor. I seriously think the amount they have spent on telephone calls and sending me snotty letters exceeds the amount I owe them!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Mortgage free since 2014

(((hugs))) Debs.
That sounds like most banks and big organisations. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
Either ring them tomorrow and give them your BR details. You don't need to get into a discussion with them or send them another copy oyour BO. Also send the letter to the OR so he can jump on them as well.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Do you know what makes it really funny. the company i worked for used to have the maintainance contract for the Halifax and they had room upon room full of racks of computer equipmant and other assorted pieces of kit costing millions

Can I join the I hate Halifax fan club.:D I was made bankrupt recently and I owed them the most and I have to go cap in hand on Tuesday to ask them for some Bank Statements going back a while as they wouldn't let me order them over the phone as I couldn't pay them the £5 they wanted because they have frozen my account. They told me I had to make an appointment with someone, not just ask at the counter.....looking forward to that meeting...NOT."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Halifax are my main creditor. I've been with them since 1990.
I've always refused point blank to ring them because an 0870 number off my mobile (No landline) is just wasting my money. I owe on the overdraft and a loan. They only ever contact me over the OD. No one has ever rung or written regarding the loan.
I just take the Sim out my phone now.
Luckily I have copies of all the letters to them. My OR tel interview is the 23rd and I shall ask about it then.
My other creditors Capital One were just the oppposite. Never phone and couldn't have been more helpful. Well, I suppose they could have written off the debt - now THAT would have been helpful!LOL
nPower are vile. But the amounts I owe them are so small (£15 and £174 that its cost them more to send all their threatening letters out. I really really HATE npower (even when they were supplying me I hated them!)
Yes, if anyone wants to change the title "I hate the Halifax Fan Club" - feel free!:D
Woken up - still fed up about it. Obviously the initial "high" from the bankruptcy order being made has worn off. I'm finally going to the hairderssers today. First time in a year, because I couldn't afford it, so hopefully I will feel a bit more lively later - ready to do battle with them.
Thank you and again sorry for the moaning.Deb Bankrupt 04/07/08 12.15pm

Halifax are pains in the bum and the only way to get rid of them was to stop paying till they passed it to a DCA. Thing I love most is it costs them more to process our DMP payment than we are paying.Barclaycard 3800
