Sony HC22 - Pity they didn't reduce that one, because if they had met or beat Amazon's price (£290 or so) I would have probably purchased

I've been wanting a mini dv camcorder for a while now and been waiting til the price was right. I bought the Sony HC14 Camcorder yesterday for £175 following your tip, Navid, and while i've only had a quick mess about with it i'm very impressed. It's perfect for my needs... so thanks.

To anyone else considering a purchase, I did a bit of research before hand on specs and customer reviews. They helped me make a decision and hopefully will help someone else too:
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=3801&productId=161320
http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=DCR-HC14E&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=TechnicalSpecs&category=CAM+MiniDV
http://www.camcorders.info/sony-dcr-hc14e.htm
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B0001GRIIK/customer-reviews/1/ref=cm_rev_prev/202-0830829-4695010?show=-submittime
I also managed to get a pack of 5 mini dv tapes for £9 (half price) as page 996 of the new catalogue states "Half Price 5 pack when bought with any Sony compatible camcorder". The reduction didn't go thru on the till so a price override was needed... i've just looked on the website and realised the Sony HC14 doesn't seem to be covered in the offer:
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=3801&langId=-1&searchTerms=5706213&go.x=0&go.y=0
So quote the ambiguous in-store catalogue rather than refer to the website on that one.
And because I spent over £100 i also got a £10 gift voucher.
Right, hope that's of use to someone. i'm now off to go and play with my new toy...0
