Can you tell me why you don't expect to live more than 5 years hon? I'm worried about you

Sorry to hear about your situation mate,i have had depression on and off for the last 10 years and its awful i too got in a financial mess cos i just couldnt cope with everything but eventually got things sorted also this really doesnt help your depression/anxiety,are the bailiffs actually coming to take your stuff away or to value everything?would they not accept small payments cos at least its something and do they know about your situation ,i know people have been in the press recently for jailing for non payment but they deliberately withheld the payments, yours is due to your situation surely if the worst did happen they would take your situation into account,i had some really good advise from a CPN that i saw for two years which was try to focus on what you can do about things and not what you cant and it is so true,i know its easier said than done but even to this day i remember him telling me this and keeps me more focused.Take care i will be thinking about you.0

I was told if I did not change my lifestyle, I wouldn't last much longer. I have changed my lifestyle considerably, but I am still unwell.
How would bankruptcy help the Council Tax? It's in two names with my joint tenant so would she then be liable for the lot?
I have very little of value. 2 Old PC's, one which is lent from my flatmates friend and the other is not working right now. A 5 year old basic TV, 2 old Videos, another small 14" TV and a £24.97 DVD player from Tesco. The furniture is from the stone age and my bed is so knackered, my back has been paying for it for many a year.....
They'll be lucky to get £50-£100 out of my possessions.0 -

Nah, not terminally ill, as I said above, I've been unwell for a while. My Doctors just told me to change my lifestyle or I won't survive. Since I have, I've felt far worse and the Doctors can't find anything more wrong, but I just can't stand the pain anymore. I always said I'd wait for 3 things to happen and when they did, I'd want the pain to stop forever. 1 down, 2 to go.
I will try for work, just to pay off the debts. If I find a good friend in the meantime, great.
The one thing I'm worried about is pain and fatigue at work. I can barely last 7 or 8 hours in a day without sleeping and sometimes the pain is so bad it affects my breathing. But apart from a poke here and there from the Doctor, they won't do any more tests as they've never shown anything in the past.
I'll be fine for now, my main concern is keeping the bailiffs out and getting my flatmate to appreciate the scale of the problem, she seems very unbothered about it. She will be if the bailiffs get in. Her precious TV will be gone!0 -

Sounds like you got in a mess the same way I did.
So far, they have only reached the banging on the door and I have had a letter from the Council saying they will take money from my benefit, but still they come.
I'm not deliberately withholding payment, it was only 3 days ago I put £3 on my Council Tax card. Only £3 but more than they will take from my benefit p/w and off my own back. I paid £20 a few weeks back, a few days later they sent a nasty letter!
Sounds like your CPN has good advice. I'm trying to be positive but when that door bangsI could easily deal with them, but i'd be arrested
It took me ages to get any help, and even now, my CPN is impossible to get hold of and he always forgets my appointments
Thanks :cool:0 -

I just wanted to add a 'Hi' to you and to point out to you that you have made so many friends on here willing to be an ear for you.
In respect to the Bailiffs they can't take anything that is your flatmates, if she has the receipts to show ownership all the better. if they are chasing your debt, they also can't take anything of yours if you are making recorded payments, whatever the amount.
Your counsellor must be a strating point for seeking work to my mind as they should be helping you sort out how many hours etc and what kind of work your likely to be able to do. Whatever you do DON'T barge down the bailiffs as it won't help at all, as you know!
Best wishes.

Hello :j <<< Not quite a Panda but it'll do
Well, I appreciate I have 'met' nice people on here. I just got make some 'real' ones, if you know what I mean. Gotta start being softer somehow
Maybe I can sign it all over to herIt's not as if she'd run off, and even if she did, it's hardly worth anything. She'd lose out more than me as she loves her TV!
My main worry is they'd be able to get in again anytime they like, anyhow they like, it's my personal space!
So if I'm paying on my Council Tax card, they can't take anything? Or if they are taking from benefit? Because i've done the first and they are starting the 2nd.
My advisor will help me. She said we would work out to make sure, if I did start work, I was better off, or it would not be worth it.
I'll try not to injure the bailiffs, I know it won't help.0
