Hi Nomis
CCCS are a charity who provide free, confidential debt advice. They'll do a phone appointment with you and give you the best advice on how to deal with your debts. I'm pretty sure they only deal with your creditors if you're on a debt management plan with them, otherwise I think they give you the tools to deal with creditors yourself. You could have a look on their website 'cos they have an online debt advice service which might be easier for you.
Good luck

I used them for my advice for banckruptcy, when you telephone they will take some details and give you an appointment last month is was a two week wait. They then send you a letter telling you what info they need, then at the telephone interview they ask you questions that they put on there computer, then offer up advice based on what you tell them, they recommended BC and advised me how to balance my SOA to ensure my general living expenses balanced. They then send that info to you via post including there recommendations.
They dont fill in the BC forms for you or anything like that."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Thanks I'm not actually in debt just intrested in how they work. they do an awesome job but seems to me a lot of people in these circumstances need an agency to just take over every side of it, until they can get back on there feet0

You will find them but boy they will charge you for it. My advice is CCCS and then do the forms yourself and theres a good reason for this and that is it gives you a chance to see everything on paper and then when you go through it with the OR you will know what they are talking about and be able to answer there questions.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Some people need more help and support than others and this is highlighted during appointments. It is more beneficial for a client to be involved at every stage of the process as this how people learn to deal with their debt problems so they don’t fall into the same trap later down the line.
I find it really encouraging reading peoples post on this site describing how they take ownership of their situation and help motivate others going through a similar debt problems.I am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. Read more information on the CCCS and what it does in the Debt Problems: What to do and where to get help article.
CCCS is a registered charity, and there is no charge whatsoever for any of the services we provide to our clients. We take great pride in offering first class help and advice, but we only offer this where we have been able to fully explore and understand your circumstances with you. We want to help you understand these choices and their possible implications but not make them for you.
