I have connected my laptop to our small office network. It is a series of XP computers connected through a hub to allow file, printer & internet access sharing. The laptop is able to connect to the network without problems, but despite have folders that are share-enabled on the laptop - the laptop can not be seen from any other computer.

Local networks are a biatch. Just try unplugging everything and plug them all back in in a different order or something. Remove all firewalls. Make sure your antivirus isn't interfering.0
