as per most people when you are way over your head with debt, we just ignored it in the belief that we would be able to sort it or we would find that chest of gold somewhere  the problems started when my wife lost her job and we couldnt pay her cards/loans and me very selfishly told her to sort it out and i was still managing to pay mine, this of course caused immense strain on our marriage with long periods of not talking and when we did it was only to argue. i came home from work last friday to find my wife in tears having received yet another phone call (each one getting worse) and this kicked my **** into gear and realised what a selfish prat i had been and we couldnt go on like this. although i am up to date with my credit i knew it would not be for much longer and knew i had to get on top of it now, so i finally made the move and contacted payplan and after spending just over half an hour on the phone going through all mine and my wifes finances with a fine tooth comb we said our goodbyes and she would be contacting me shortly with a relevant options for helping us. this she did and was able to offer us a DMP asking if i would like to think it over (which i did in the blink of an eye  ) and accepted her offer of help. although this is the very start of a long and bumpy road, i have now tackled it head on and although this has helped i am still very apprehensive with regards to the outcome, our creditors have yet to agree on the offer and with the way payplan worked it all out and told me the amount i could afford to pay, i have my doubts as this amount seems very low. she did give me a time period of 7.1 years and this made me feel alot better.
i shall keep you all updated as to the outcome and would like to say what a fantastic site this is, with some very well informed and understanding people, if i hadnt read your posts and learnt from you all, i dont know where i would have gone thanks everyone

Obviously that is the minimum that you should pay
Try your hardest to put more towards your debts starting with the highest APRs first0
