Is anyone trying to sort things out for ftb ers. Our house has been on the market for 10 months now, viewings have dried up, we will drop the price again next week. It will be 20k less than next door sold for 2 yrs ago. We have the difference in cash to move and we are mortgage free. Most who came to view had not sold their places (why send them to us ? fk knows.) It is frustrating .The banks bld soc are bickering with the gov't and no body seems to lend a hand at the bottom of the ladder, so who will have the balls to make the first move ???

I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

The market is sorting things out for FTB-ers.
Prices have started falling, and will continue falling another 35-50% until house prices become affordable for the average first time buyer.
As a potential FTB-er myself, I don't need the government to do anything more than is already happening, things are working out just fine. Thanks for your concern, though. :cool:poppy100 -

Have you considered an arrangement where you match any price drop your buyers have to concede in order to get a sale, and pass it up the chain? That would be a ballsy move and possibly get you moving too.:T:j :TMFiT-T2 No.120|Challenge started 12.12.09|MFD 12.12.12 :j:T:j0 -
Ah, but the gov't are "helping" (in their usual "couldn't run a pee-up in a brewery" way)
Thinking about reducing/dropping stamp duty for FTBs http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/mortgages/stamp-duty/article.html?in_article_id=447183&in_page_id=80
result - market (above £150k) stops dead and waits....
Thinking about a "reduced/subsidised rent while you save up to buy the place" (damn, can't find a link - was readig it earlier today)
result - FTBs stop dead and wait...0
