an engineer told me once that electrical goods are not made to last.
He recommended buying the cheapest that did the job- cause they mostly all break down at some point.

I bought a Breville Kettle a few yrs ago- cost nearly £50:eek: Mad I know. It lasted 11months- my new Tesco £5.48 kettle has been going for 15 + no bother yet! NOT the most stylish tho:rotfl:

Same as you, bought a dear one - didnt last, Tesco working fine!!!!

You could try freecycle - you might be lucky. There is one here in NI - just look under yahoo groups if you aren't already a member

My friend used to sell white goods and advises to always buy the cheapest washing machine you can find - ariston was cheapest last time I looked. Argos currently have a sale one, check out the website
Washing machines can go at any time and buying one second hand, in my opinion, is a false economy, as you wont know what history it has, unless of course you could find a shop that sells reconditioned ones and are willing to give a guarantee

    Good luck

Why dont u try argos they ave sales on at the mo, although u do ave 2 wait bout week on delivery
  • there is a great electrical shop in Kilrea. They sell most brands and deliver free. My Mum lives in carrickfergus and she got her washing machine there and got it delivered the next day for free!! Donaghy Bros is the name of the shop and I always buy my electrical things from the chap 'James' there - tall blonde chap. Worth a try......you can always phone them up ...the staff are not comissioned based so they are not trying to sell something to get comission for themselves!!

For second hand - try freecycle...there is one to cover most area of Northern ireland. Or maybe from a charity shop. There is one in Ballymena , I think it is the red cross one there that has lots of furniture and electrical white goods....opposite captain cooks shop in the town.

    Good luck....
