How much did you spend today? - Oct 19th

Options
Can i start this?

I hadn't realised that the purpose of this thread was to fess up your daily spendings in the hope that the threat of having to go public would limit your desire for shopping.

Anyway, I'm going to join in from now on. Today £3.25 on some bananas for the office, jar of drinking chocolate for the office (to stop me sneaking off downstairs to the coffee bar) and a bread roll to go with the tin of soup i brought in for lunch after doing the storecupboard challenge. Wanted to go for some apple crumble from the canteen downstairs but the thought of adding more money on this posting stopped me. Walked into work this am, will cycle home tonight, then going to my guides meeting where no money shall be spent.

£39.74 on some new bike lights. It was either that or get squished by a car when the clocks go back and it's dark as I cycle along bits of road that aren't streetlit.

Still not happy about it though. :(

Consider it an investment! I cycle into work and one of the girls here told me to avoid cycle shop fluoro gear as it carries a premium and instead try your local army surplus store where they often stock workmen fluoro jackets and the like at bargain prices. Your local market might also do the same. Or else you could try joining freecycle.org and posting a wanted ad for some cycling gear. Might not be much use now you've bought your lights but I notice from your site that you are still considering other cycling gear

  • i spent £20 today and i cant say i am not happy about it, but it is my sons 11th birthday tomorrow and all he asked for was an mp3 player, on a brighter note i would have a couple of months ago went and put the price of an ipod on my credit card for him and no doubt the thanks would have been the same
