Housing Woes

That's ok Lily, I'm definitely moving in for all the right reasons, as I had planned to move in with him in September anyway. I have thought about that loads, as a bad experience with my ex has really impacted on the way I look at things, and to make sure I'm not being too hasty. (And talk about Karma, after he run off with my money and got the flat, its now on the market for 27k less than what was paid).
I do really appreciate all your advice, you have all been really helpful, and I like mother-henness, I can be a bit mother-hen myself!!! xx0 -
OK, chicky. I'll stop worrying now!

Well, everything has gone boobs-up. My flatmate has left the flat, won't answer my calls or texts, and I have no idea where she is or if she will be back. Apparently I'm "heinous" becuase I never see her "now I have a boyfriend". I spent most of last night crying, because I don;t feel that I have done anything wrong, and have always told her I'd be there for her even after I moved out. I keep thinking of how childish a thing that was to say, as I had been seeing my fella for 6 months before she even moved in, i.e. before I even knew her!
I have no idea what to do, what if she doesn't come back and I'm liable for her rent? How will I get my money back from her? I'm finding it hard to concentrate on much else now that all this has happened, and I can't see what I have done to deserve this! I thought things were stressful enough at the moment.

Has she taken all her stuff Ratty?
I think you're going to have to talk to the LL, see if you can come to some arrangement. At least you're in a good position with him as you've stayed put, whereas Miss muppet has done a runner.
Could your BF move into yours instead now that she's gone, or is that not a viable option.
As for the money she owes, take her to small claims court if she won't pay.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Peachy if the ex flat mateowes her money should Miss Ratty not tell the OR and let him deal with it?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Yes Tigerfeet, but if Miss Ratty needs to move she'll need the money for another deposit, which the OR should let her keep as it's for housing. If she lets the OR deal with it the money will all go to her creditors.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
