Hello all... stupid person alert.
I haven't used Next (online or otherwise) for 2 years after they promised not to send me their catalogue and then sent it anyway and charged me for the privelege (but that's another story).
Thanks to my mum, who insists on giving my DH a Next gift card every christmas, I placed an order at the weekend. It was a bit of a trial because unlike every other website I've ever shopped on, there's no page for payment.
I got an order confirmation by email, but nothing was showing in my account on the website, except a message saying something about transactions being added overnight. Next day, logged in again, and still showed a balance of £0. The item has been delivered today, and my account still says £0.
Does anyone know when I am actually going to be charged for the item? Do I have to wait until the end of the month for a statement or something? I have to say this experience really hasn't improved my opinion of Next, I would have liked to be able to pay instantly and not worry about checking my account every day until god knows when.

Mine usually appears on my account the middle of the month, which it is now, so probably not much use to you! Maybe the delay is because of the forthcoming sale - why don't you give them a call? I did about an hour ago for something else and got through and my query answered straight away.0

it takes about 2 weeks to go onto my account... I presume this is to allow you time to return the item if you want to.0

Usually you would wait until the statement arrives and then make the payment (Next is afterall like any other store card in that respect).
I presume you'll be using the gift card to make a payment? If so then just log into your account online and you'll see the option to make a payment by gift card.
Just go ahead and follow the instructions on there, it'll put your account into credit. Then when the items have been added to your account it'll reduce the credit balance.0 -
Thanks all, guess I'll just wait then!
Ben, I would agree with you if it was a credit card, and I couldn't see my account until the end of the month, but I can see it any time I want and it's a bit strange that it says zero!
Plus littlewoods have a similar system with the credit account, but they do still give you the option to pay with a card, and it doesn't take so long for things to show up on your account either.
I'll have to have a word with mum before xmas I guess, not going through this again!!:www: :: MFi3 ::

You could always spend the gift card in a Next store
