That didn't happen in the 1930s. Nor really in the 1980s (miners' strike excepted and the miners didn't manage to attract too many supporters to their cause).

There'll be plenty of pain but proper rioting in the streets ain't likely.

Possibly. I also think they kind of have to in order to retain any confidence whatsoever in the market..

I'm going to have to check out the OS board eventually, it sounds fantastic, my sort of thing, good times or otherwise.:o

Lostinrates - you really mean to tell me you have never been over to the Old Style board? They have saved me thousands of pounds over the last few years. They are always nice to each other - on the rare occasions someone gets sniffy it doesn't last for long.
