I think surveyors will be "watching their own backs" at the moment due to the credit crunch.
If they value too high they could get in trouble if a bad risk is taken on.
If they value too low then they probably won't lose their job for erring on the side of caution.
Don't take it personally.
It's quite common that at risky times they will err on the side of caution.
If prices were rocketing they would be less cautious as it wouldn't matter so much if they got it wrong.0 -
They have been CYA'ing since the dawn of time! Just we notice it when things are tight.
Currently you could have a bigger house than next door and they may not have a nice new extention on it your house is going to be down valued.
