Hi all,
Recently discharged from BR. My internet is provided by my employer but I think will soon be cut off.
Are there any Internet providers out there that would allow for the fact that I am a discharged BR (with a 3 year BRU!)?? I don't download much at all & really only browse/use e-mail...I currently have a 1/2 meg connection (don't laugh!) but this is fine for me!
Was thinking of Virgin deal (free with £16 phone rental) or talk21 (other 1/2 phones abroad a lot so with this deal she gets free calls).Or-do i not have a cat in hells chance??! Could always set up in other 1/2's name but she gets miffed as loads comes from her /ac (even though I pay her back!).
I gather o2 have a deal (I am a PAYG o2 customer).....
Any ideas??

Hmm good question....virgin usually credit check new applications although saying that i've known people with really crappy credit history open accounts with them in the past! so virgin is worth a try suppose....again you "could" try o2's deal but they credit check as well so you could fail they do seem a little sharper with credit checks.....or maybe one of the mobile broadband plug in usb thingies? they offer pay as you go broadband speeds (I know for a fact three dont credit check pay as you go as I have one in the caravan for use when i'm away)

I'd give any of them a go. Even if they credit check there's not a huge risk to them. As BB is a fixed monthly fee you can't run up a huge bill as you can with a phone and then not pay. The most they could lose is 1 month, so £15ish. They may just ask for a 3 month deposit or something.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

do you have sky tv. They provide a sky/telephone/broadband package which you could change tomake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Hi,
I'm in the process of trying to get Virgin Media installed in my new flat i'm moving to at the end of the month. I failed the credit credit due to being bamkrupt. I have faxed them my discharge certificate and waiting to hear the outcome. As soon as i know i will post on here. Hope that helps.0 -
I have 3 on a broadband dongle thingie. Pay 15.00 a month for 3 mb. Mines on 18 month contract so dongle was free. They do it also on pay as you go as well.
Hope this helps, I got turned down by Orange and O2 as failed credit check.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

AOL offer Silver for £9.99 permonth and free calls except premium for I think about £6...not sure as I had the first six months free. That just leaves the line rental to BT. I think it's a good deal but I don't know if they do a credit check.
On the otherhand if you don't pay you'll get cut off so I wouldn't have thought it was that big a deal.
Try them and see.

I have PAYG mobile with 3 special offer on modem £49.99 then £10 for 30 days or 1GB works fine and if I needed more £15 for 3GB.To be honest get far more for £10 than I would get topping up my mobile phone.

I have a wardriving kit.. Around £50 off ebay.. I can pick up at least 9 unsecured networks. You have to watch though as you wouldn't want to do online banking etc on an unsecured network. Also there is a 1 in a million chance than you may get done for it. Do you have a neighbour with wireless broadband that you are friendly with. Maybe they would let you log on to theirs!!0

In my experience they ask for a small deposit and set you a limit on the account, after all you're not such a risk the OR is monitering you!0

Thanks all....will look in to some of the suggestions!0
