Savings on wedding cars!

I think I must be the luckiest girl alive today!! :p

One of my best friends has asked two members of her family if they will drive not only me but all my bridesmaids to the church and back. They have a people carrier and a merc. They not only said yes but they said they will decorate the cars too. All for nothing!! :j That has saved me a mahoooosive £250.

Have you guys thought about the options for wedding cars? If members of your or friends families have a decent car then be brave and ask them to do you a favour! Once it has ribbon on it and it is cleaned it will do the job perfectly! Also, if yoru local taxi firm has a nice car, they will dress it and let you use it for weddings too. Our taxi company offered us a white car(not sure of the make but it was big) dressed for the wedding for £15.

Woohoo.... bring on the savings!:rotfl:

A guy we know from my OH's rugby club has offered to drive me on the day in his plush new Merc, as long as I provided the decoration. I got the ribbon and bows for the car off ebay in the exact colour I wanted for £3.

A great bargain for me as the cheapest car we could find available on the day was £325 and I didn't even like it (don't 'get' classic cars, prefer something more modern).

I would of been happy with my dad's gf driving us in their shiny Rover (or walking, we live a 15 min walk from the church) but oh wouldn't hear of it, insisted we should get cars... Luckily my nan is friends with someone who does wedding cars so we got one for less than half the price we were looking at!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

We're just getting taxis, much to the disappointment of my younger brothers! There is a bus that goes from very near our flat to outside the venue and part of me thinks it would be quite cool to go on the bus but the other part worries about rain, lateness, dress getting mucky etc etc so we'll play it safe.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

My dad is using our wedding as an excuse to try and convince my mum that his new car should be a jag!!!! Not sure the whole "yay I save £300" argument holds up so well against the purchase of a brand new posh car!

I'm trying to track down a relative/family friend who owns a 50s car to go with our outfits.

The best man's Dad offered his brand new Jag which was great but now we are staying in the village B&B the night before and walking about 200 yards to the church. It doesn't get much simpler than that!

I'm sure most friends or family would be happy to help if you asked. Saves a fortune too!
