Barclaycard Debt Help/Moorcroft

  • Barclaycard were my worst creditor and they did send a doorstep collector. They have about as much right as the paperboy so tell em to bog off if they turn up. I did and I'm female and live on my own. In fact, I left the guy standing on my doorstep for 20 mins in the pouring rain whilst I watched Eastenders. Poor chap!

BC were also one of my creditors who told me to contact CCCS as they would accept my DMP if I went with them...well they didn't. On the plus side, since the doorstep collector they've gone quiet...perhaps that could be cos I've written a whole host of letters as BC were in default of my CCA request at the time the collector was sent.

I wait to see what their next move is!

Thanks for this, its good to know it isnt just me! Sorry have been offline for a while, am back now!!

BC harassment got to rdidculous levels again, then I sent a CCA request and general complaint about their treatment, and its now all gone quiet phone wise, but have had no response to the CCA request either.... The 12+2 is up on Monday so will go to the next stage then...

One thing that puzzles me, is the account is well past the 40 day default period and whilst all my other cc's have issued default notices, in order to be able to suspend interest they say, BC have done nothing, some 3 months later and are still adding ridiculous interest to my account! I am also worried that they will now charge me for being over my credit limit as well as being late....

    Am so confused.....

Any help would be much appreciated
  • Got a letter from them today saying they are dealing with my complaint and will be in touch by the 19th, this will be over the 12+2, can they do this or should I just send the next letter?

Am finding this very confusing so any help you can give me would be really appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Send the letter.
I pretty much went through what you are experiencing with Barclaycard and ended up taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service - I lost but Barclaycard sold the debt on. I've made a CCA request and they cannot provide a valid copy.
  • Thanks Leixlip, I'll find the template letter and get it sent today, see what happens!

They are by far the worst of all the people I have been dealing with, all the others have been really helpful, thankfully!
