I've GOT to do it. Quit my ghastly, horrible job (can't cope physically or mentally with it) - last day tomorrow, and they're making my life hell. Dreading tomorrow! I've got another job to start after Christmas but it's casual and lousy wages. I know I can do it with the help of this site and everyone on here.
Sorry, had much toomuchvino tonight! Tha'll have to stop NOW0 -
Jaybee,
Don't panic about quitting the job. I did the same about a year ago and it was the best thing that cuold ever have happened to me.
I was a long way from home, in a city where I didn't know that many people (I am a country girl really! ::)) with a high powered stressful job and was really unhappy.
By taking something nearer home, in a smaller city, near people I know ,I have found the elusive happiness formula. I have to admit I don't love my job, but I get by on the wages and with the help of this site. And I am in a better position now to look for something better as I am settled and have started to work out what I really want to do, career wise.
What I have learned is the importance of the things people often forget - happiness, contentment, friendship and love. Many of my friends thought I was mad. They saw me as giving up things they desperately wanted - but as far as I am concerned they are welcome to it!
HTH - let us know how the new job is when you start.
rxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Thanks r.mac. I'm feeling better already! Today was a very long day but I've been so touched by all the people at work who have wished me well etc. The new job will be longer hours and less pay (how does that happen!). Anyway, I'm quite looking forward to the challenge especially with the backup from all you lovely MSEers!0
