Times are hard but i've found a lot of my friends are in the same boat so once a week we either use the vouchers for meals on this site (pizza expressing it this sunday! thanks Martin) or our local does 2-4-1 main courses on a thursday and spend my £10 allowance on getting out and doing something with my friends - we have the nak of lasting a lunch/dinner thats cost us a £5 each (plus a £5 budget for drinks) all afternoon/evening and then i feel like i have a life.
We have also found it cuts down on texts and phone calls because we save all our news and gossip up for our catch up - you do have to go in two's but we are an 8 strong crowd now :-)

I'm not so lucky - my friends are all high earners or live at home so they have a lot more surplus cash then me - going out with them can be a bit of a pain as the bill can be a bit high sometime and its always divided - I've a small appetite to add to it, so always end up spending more then I've actually had.
I do sometimes suggest 241 deals but hate always being the one to do it. Some of my other friends its not so bad with as i always try to use Toptable were i can. Still waiting to get my free meal with them though.0 -
2 4 1 Pizza - yummy...
But would still be cheaper to eat in + esp. after they stick drinks on top0 -
Thats a great idea, me and my mates aren't going to bother buying each other xmas presents this year (we have known each other so long we dont know what to buy anyway) so sometime in jan/feb we will all go out for a meal instead.0
