Applying for a remortgage - dependent child question

Our two year fixed rate is up in November, and we've a little one on the way in September.
Looking at the online quotes we're asked if we've any 'dependent children' - my question is, just out of curiosity, does having a child help or hinder getting accepted for a re-mortgage ?
I've had a look on hsbc's site, changing the ammount of children for each quote and it seems to make no odds ?

It varies company to company. I don't think with HSBC it does affect it.
With some lenders they take the view that if you have dependent children then essentially that's more money going out each month and therefore affects how they assess affordability.0 -
Thanks for the quick response Andy
