  • Clothing is clothing even if it's months between - they are still months ;) presents also, £5 is £5, so you'll need to count something.
OK, understand why the entertainment is high, but I know you're working on that:D Sorry missed your earlier comment about your hair, good that Don does her own:)
Keeping a spend diary updated is a nightmare, I couldnt do it either:P ! If a diary wouldn't work for you; perhaps try what we do, every month we withdraw £200 cash and leave it in a box in the lounge. We allow £40 each for our 'own' money to do what we want with and the £120 we shop with. That way, when it's gone it's gone, and if we have to spend on a card, we write it down and put it in the box, so at the end of the month we can see how much we overspent and what junk it was on!! It works for us; but you may have to work out something that works for you :) x
Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
Bluejeans Challenge: Spend less - Eat less! Need to lose [STRIKE]4 [/STRIKE] 2.5 stone () then maintain until my concert in Dec!!
Cady's jam jar challenge.. how much will be in the pot?!

Budget: a mathematical confirmation of your suspicions.

I have put £10 a month for presents giving us £120 a year for presents for 5 sibs that we buy for so think that covers it...... I think.

I will make a note of the clothing thing and i will add it to the SOA.

I have just applied for a clubcard plus and the plan was to put the food and fuel budget on it and hopefully not go over it! I no tesco isnt the best place to go for value but we do buy the cheap stuff and don doesnt like lidl as we have had a bad experience with some food from there, and we are saving up the vouchers to pay for a hunnymoon of sorts,.
  • You sound like your head is totally in the right place and that's a good place to start:) Well done you x
