advice regarding SCS!

hi
if this is in the wrong place im sorry please feel free to move!

this is regarding my parents they spent £1200 on a 2 + 3 mocha leather sofas from SCS 3 months ago, today they were delivered but the 3 seater was black  the delivery drivers said this has happened a few times before and another suite will be ordered but they do take an est 3 months to receive and they did leave the odd sofas as they had no other seating it was also mentioned they would remove the odd sofas when they deliver the new.
The delivery driver said to my parents why dont they ask SCS to knock £800 off and they will keep the odd colored sofas i dunno if they would have but my mum wouldn't do that anyways
i was wondering if anyone knows if on the delivery forms for the new sofas, will it have the collection for the odd ones on it or could you get away with putting the sofas in another room on delivery day and get away with them not taking them away:D and does anyone know if they have the same delivery men for set areas? or if you could get the odd sofas at a really low cost seeing as they will be est 3 months old and used as i would love the black 3 seater for myself if i could get it cheap enough of even better free:p

any tips and advice on how to swindle a really cheap deal on the 3 seater alone or the full suit even though its odd or even better get it free will be much appreciated.

thanks linzi

  • Id say maybe on the delivery forms it would have on it to take away the odd one that was delivered 1st. But i would imagine it would only say this if the deliver person noted down on the forms that the wrong colour was made/delivered.

I personally wouldn't risk sticking the sofa in another room and thus getting away with a free sofa. You may say get away with it for a few mths and then suddenly get a letter saying you owe double the money or something as you have 2 sofas.

Id definately ask for the black sofa at a cheaper price when the mocha one is delivered as what good is the black sofa to them really??? They'd have to load it back into the delivery truck, unload it at the depot and then put it in a store id imagine at a lower price and then have the hassle of delivering it all over again to another customer. To me it would seem in the SCS best interest to let you keep it for a lower price.
