if its a clean break you can take them to the dental lab. but the denture will never be as strong as it oonce was, if its in lots of peices you'll have to go to the dentist for another impression.

Are you an NHS patient or private?

NHS denture repairs are free - but you'd have to go through the dentist to access this.

If you're private, then taking a broken denture direct to a technician would probably work out cheaper (Check the technician is registered with the General Dental Council - GDC - though, as they all should be nowadays).

With the denture only being 18 months old though, I would go back to the dentist anyway, as I'm sure he'd at least offer to repair in at lower cost, if not free if it were private.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
